I thought oil stains come standard with a jeep. I know mine did.

Mine marks its territory as well. Steering gear was leaking when I got it. Lately it has been bleeding green as well.

I always figured that was what kept these things running so long. All that fresh fluid all the time, how could they not run forever???

Ok so several people have asked about the rear stretch and the gas tank.... here's your answer:
it's a hybrid stretch. I'm moving the hangers forward 3" for a net WB gain of about 3", that should avoid gas tank interference.
My goal with the stretch isn't to drastically increase the WB of my jeep, but just to recenter the axle in the new, larger wheel well since the well can only expand backwards.
The Wagoneer springs in the front aren't stretching either. I'm turning them around so that from hanger to center pin its the same length as the YJ but from center pin to shackle is 2" longer. This will allow me to use 1.5" lift shackle without actually gaining lift, giving me a much better shackle angle for on- and off-road suspension response and a lot more droop.
Same goes for the XJ springs. I plan on using the stock shackle mounting point, or moving it back maybe 1" and 1.5-2" lift shackles for the same reasons. No extra lift but much better flex and much improved on-road ride. And again I can only manage that because I'm moving the hanger forward 3" so the rear eye of the spring will only be 3" past the stock YJ position, meaning those lift shackles should reach.

I got my decals today from PixelDecals.com. They are the old Willys "4 Wheel Drive" logo and a set of Rubicon-style hood lettering that says "CHEQUAMEGON" I wanted to make this Jeep personal, and since I'm building it to accommodate the Wisconsin environment it lives and wheels in, I figured it should have a name that reflects its design. The Chequamegon National Forest is in Northern WI (what you will hear referred to as the Northwoods) and is the site of the Northwoods Jeep Jamboree. I picked this to keep in the naming tradition of Jeeps - places they go. Laredo, Rio Grande, Sahara, Rubicon, et cetera. It's pronounced "shuh-WAHM-eh-gun" with a silent q. I'm quite happy with it.

Interesting, never thought of moving the shackle hangers forward. That just might be the ticket for my strech
