If all of you DIY'ers are anything like me, you spend all of your saved $$ on the tools you needed to do the job yourself...it's how we empty the other pocket.

Anyway, I was thinking that maybe we could develop a list of equipment that we would be willing to loan out to other members to prevent others from having to buy stuff (if they don't wanna). My only concerns would be the age old "failure to return in a timely manner" and the fact that there is no "hidden" area for members only, so anyone could put 2 + 2 together and people could get robbed.

Any site leaders that could make this work, or is it just a bad idea??

This could be a good idea or a really bad idea that could cause some pretty hard feelings. I can easilly set up another section that automatically shows up after a member has made a certain number of posts to the message board. This would prove that they are a contributing member to the community and have made a commitment to sticking around.

I will leave it up to the masses as a democracy. Majority rules.

Uhhhh, does anyone have super large toolbox I can borrow? I promise to bring it back in about 1 or 2.... decades... lol. Peole are always welcome to borrow what I have. I dont have much into the handy master mechanics, stanley, and taiwanese tools that I use.

Not looking good - oldest son's birthday party is that day...gotta get the house in order. I mentioned it to the boss and got "the look".

Goose, I agree. On the one side, people have been pretty good, but there's always that one person that jacks it up for everyone. Maybe when you borrow the tool, you gotta give them the spare key to your rig!! Or something of greater value in my case
